World Wide Living Death is verzameling van videomateriaal met noise
muziek. Onsamenhangendheid wordt bijeengebracht tot chaotisch geheel
waarbij beeld en muziek elkaar niet navolgen maar wel ondersteunen, de
onpersoonlijke leegheid van ons digitaal bestaan zal hierbij het thema
zijn, een realiteit waarmee we allen mee worden geconfronteerd, niet als
beklag maar juist als aambidding van deze "third space" waarin de
fascinatie wordt benadrukt waar het oneindige internet ons mee kan
boeien of vervelen. Wat blijft er over van menselijkheid en leven we wel
echt als we naar onze schermen staren en leven in een illusie van
sociale interactie.
Sjoerd Juxta is a sound artist from The Hague, after studying Sonology
at the Royal Conservatory and being active in the underground scene with
many different sounds, styles and variations, now has an interest in
audiovisual work, where sound are video are combined in a poetic way,
where they don't follow each other but create a new reality by
showcasing our digital reality in which we all live nowadays. Not
criticizing this reality but working more as an ode this new "third
space" where we share our feelings and experiences in a non-personal
way, where the ever-expanding boundaries of the collective consciousness
we know as the internet is explored in a theatrical way trying to
capture how mind-numbing but also inspiring this new world we are
exploring can be and how it affects us all if we want it or not.
