Si Paton and Robert Nettleship a duo of drums and bass guitar specialising in free improvisation. A cross collaboration project between Birmingham and The Hague, their performances exist in that musical sweet-spot where avant-jazz, noise rock and contemporary composition align. Taking reference from the powerhouse rhythm sections of Weasel Walter & Tim Dahl or Lightning Bolt and the frantic interplay of groups like Hella, their shows are brash, unpredictable and relentless. Both have had respected careers as composer-improvisers (Nettleship with the solo album 'Embodied' and Paton for his work with prog-jazz group Selectric) and this collaboration has taken their explorations into bright and intense sonic ground.
