I\U is a noise duo based in Copenhagen consisting of two members
originating from the countryside of Denmark up north and the east coast
of Norway, respectively. The groundwork for I\U was laid in the late
2010s through organizing live performances in Copenhagen, meeting up,
and introducing each other to technical knowledge about electronics,
sound manipulation, and the possibilities within noise music. They
actively exposed each other to noise acts they now more than likely draw
influence from, including many modern and classic Asian, European, and
American acts - too many to mention.
In 2022, just before the
escalation of war, I\U and their solo projects, I/K and uranes, toured
in Ukraine. Besides Copenhagen, I\U has also played in cities like Oslo
and Amsterdam. Their latest release is a collaborative CD with the
Italian act P.G.R., who is infamous for having toured all over the
world. Back in 2021, they also released a tape on nofigore called
ēlectrica.
