The project was originally inspired by the common passion of the members for real-time digital processing of acoustic instrumental sound. The duo - Dan Gibson (modified cello/ electronics) and Vladimir Vlaev (modified guitar/electronics), are also active as solo performers with their individually developed instruments. In Hypochondriac Resonators both explore the sound palettes of their instruments often in an spontaneous and improvised manner. Recently the duo has recorded an album with the title "Stories in Sound" . The 5 electro-instrumental compositions are an original exploration of musical approaches and techniques distinguished often also as genres or sub genres in experimental electronic music. They explore the sound worlds of noise, feedback, or immerse themselves in a meditative ambient drone while telling stories with their instruments.
