Gonçalo Almeida, Luis Lopes and Rogier Smal meet for the first time on stage
at sotu festival in a combination where the crossover of creative
music is inherent.

Gonçalo Almeida settled in Rotterdam, plays in Rotterdam's jazzcore
trio Albatre and Amsterdam based quintet Spinifex, along with free
improvisation in various formations on the European improvisation
scene. He is also mentor of the jazz electro-acoustic chamber trio
Lama.
Luís Lopes, a guitarist connected to jazz, improvised and experimental
music. Running Multi-international groups such as his Humanization
4tet (with Portuguese Rodrigo Amado and Texan's Aaron and Stefan
Gonzalez), Lisbon Berlin Trio (with Germans Christian Lillinger and
Robert Landfermann).
Rogier Smal, an Amsterdam based drummer who experiments with free
percussion sounds. He plays with different groups, musicians and solo.
Lately Rogier has been lucky enough to play with greats like: Marshall
Allen, Dylan Carlson, Eugene Chadbourne, Asuna Arashi, Ryoko Ono,
Daevid Allen, Nora Mulder, Colin Webster, Johannes Lunds, Maria Bertel,
Lori Goldston and many more.
