An eccentric banjo player, free percussion sounds and pop rock improvisations.
Eugene Chadbourne is an American improvisor, guitarist and banjoist. A seemingly endless (and endlessly eclectic) series of releases made the innovative guitarist one of the underground community’s most well-known and well-regarded eccentrics. He started out playing rock and roll guitar, but quickly grew bored with the form’s conventions. Chadbourne then studied other genres, including blues, country, bluegrass, free jazz, and noise. Chadbourne carved out a singular style, comprised of equal parts protest music, free improvisation, and avant-garde jazz, topped off with his absurd, squeaky vocals. He has collaborated with an endless amount of artists including John Zorn, Derek Bailey, Han Bennink, Camper Van Beethoven, They Might Be Giants, Sun City Girls, Kommissar Hjuler und Frau and Violent Femmes.
Rogier Smal is a drummer who experiments with free percussion sounds. He plays with different groups, duo’s and solo. Lately Rogier has been lucky enough to have been making sonic waves of liberty with gems like: Jaap Blonk, James Harrar, Marshall Allen, Dagora, Dylan Carlson, City Hands, Sunburned hand of the man, Mik Quantius, Peter Zinken, Arvind Ganga, and many more..
